GM 700R4, TRANSMISSION REBUILD KIT, 1985-E1987 (74008A-ALLO) (5/13)

We are offering the following high quality transmission rebuild kit for your GM 700R4 transmission.  This kit will work for year models 1985 through early 1987.  This kit will include the following items in this kit, frictions, steels, overhaul gasket and seals kit, filter, band, pump bushing and the extension housing bushing.

This kit will contain the following top quality parts for your transmission.

A74119A ... Friction Module, GM 700R4 1985-E1987, (Allomatic Frictions, Made in the USA)

74139A ... Steel Module, 700R4 1985-1992 (NEW)

74002C ... Overhaul Kit, 700R4 1982-Up Combo, (Toledo Trans-Kit)

A74010 ... Filter, 700R4 (Wide) 1982-1991 (SPX or Allomatic)

A74020A ... Band, 700R4/4L60E (2 Tang) 1985-Up, Raybestos Pro Band

74034 ... Bushing, 700R4/4L60E Pump Body (Babbit) 1982-Up

44066 .... Bushing, 700R4/4L60E Extension Housing (Babbit) 1982-Up

This is a basic overhaul kit for your transmission.  We suggest changing all the bushing, thrust washers and bearings during your rebuild.  There may be a broken hard part in the transmission that was your problem that caused the rebuild.  Inspect all the hard parts very closely while you are cleaning the parts.  If you are new to rebuilding automatic transmission, remember to soak all friction materials for 30 minutes in transmission fluid before installing.

FYI: When doing your parts inspections, look at the Sun Shell very closely. Look for cracked welds or stripped splines in the shell. This is a known weak spot in these transmissions. You may want to consider replacing the shell with a heavy duty unit like the BEAST.

Checkout our eBay Store for more parts and kits for your automatic transmission. Thanks

McLaren 650S Sprint revealed – debuts at Pebble Beach

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

The McLaren 650S Sprint arrives to hit the track The arrival of the McLaren 650S in February (and the end of the 12C, unless it’s being replaced by the McLaren 625C) meant, in all probability, that the various hardcore versions of the 12C would be replicated for the 650S. We’ve already has the new McLaren 650S GT3 at Goodwood this year, and now we get the car that fills the gap between the 650S and GT3 version for McLaren owners to take to the track – the McLaren 650S Sprint. The 650S Sprint – which we assume replaces the 12C Sprint – keeps the 650S’s 641bhp V8 but adds a hefty dose of track specific updates to make the Sprint more focused and with sharper responses.

Subaru BRZ (2012) - more on FT-86's shy sister

Mon, 26 Sep 2011

Since the joint venture between Toyota and Subaru was announced in 2009, we've seen four concept cars from Toyota of its version, the FT-86/Scion FR-S. But barring some unfortunate-looking Impreza based engineering mules, we've yet to see the Subaru edition. That situation didn't change at the recent 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, where Subaru once again exhibited the rear-drive platform of what we now know will be called the BRZ with a transparent bodyshell rather than production panels.

BMW Alpina B7 – the closest you’ll get to an M7

Sat, 09 Jan 2010

The BMW Alpina B7 - now available in the US BMW has made it clear that they won’t be making an ‘M’ version of the 7 Series. I know, we’ve hear that all before with the X5, but they seem adamant. In fact, one of our readers questioned our story about ‘No BMW M7‘ a couple of months ago after his local dealer said the M7 was coming in Spring 2010.
