Is your fuel consumption not making any sense at all? If you've just taken your vehicle to the mechanic for a tune-up and still do not get the miles-per-gallon and engine performance that you're expecting, then maybe your MAP Sensor has already gone bad. The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor is designed to continuously compare atmospheric absolute pressure to the intake's manifold vacuum and then relay the voltage signal or frequency to your vehicles onboard computer. The computer measures engine load and subsequently advances or retards the ignition timing based on such information. If your MAP Sensor goes bad, it will drastically lower your vehicle's miles-per-gallon and engine performance. The best remedy here is to have your MAP Sensor, your vacuum hose, and your engine checked for possible leaks or problems. If both your engine and your vacuum hose are okay, then it's most probably your sensor that causes the troubles. Thus, replacing it with an OE part will be your best option to address the issue.

McLaren lock out front row in Australian F1 Grand Prix qualifying

Sat, 17 Mar 2012

Lewis Hamilton is on pole with Jenson Button alongside for the 2012 Australian F1 Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton is on pole with Jenson Button alongside for the 2012 Australian F1 Grand Prix after qualifying in Melbourne. Most of the pit lane thought McLaren had got it wrong with their new nose – a sleek nose instead of the stepped one almost all the rest of the field have this year – but as far as the opening qualifying of the 2012 F1 circus they seem to have got it just right. Hamilton set a stunning lap to open final qualifying, with Jenson Button managing to almost match his team mate with a lap just 0.152 seconds behind to make the front row a McLaren lock-out.

Zaha Hadid Z-car concept

Tue, 13 Jun 2006

Zaha Hadid is an Iraq-born and London-based architect, who became the first female recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004. Her ambitious buildings have earned her much acclaim, and having designed the latest BMW factory, Hadid has now turned her sights on cars with the unveiling of the Z-car concept. Not to be confused with the similarly titled Nissan/Datsun, Hadid?s Z-car is a small plastic-bodied monocoque with a prominent lifting door.

Porsche Panamera hits the heights in Shanghai

Wed, 22 Apr 2009

A Porsche Panamera on its way to the 94th floor of the World Financial Centre in Shanghai [ad#ad-1] The stories of car makers doing daft things with cars to garner a bit of publicity have been rarer of late. Which, considering the sombre mood of car makers and the car buying public in recent months, is no real surprise. Even Motor Shows have been relatively sombre affairs (the Detroit Motor Show was particularly muted in 2009), but China is still booming, and the Shanghai Motor Show has been pretty much an old fashioned, glitzy affair.
