BMW GINA concept
Tue, 10 Jun 2008BMW Group Design has just revealed a revolutionary new concept car which utilizes a flexible textile cover to form its outer skin. Called the ‘GINA' Light Visionary Model - an acronym derived from the principle of Geometry and Functions In "N" (Infinite) Adaptions - the concept offers dramatically different solutions that affect the design and functionality of future cars. The almost seamless flexible textile cover that stretches across a moveable substructure has dispensed with the usual body elements found on production vehicles such as front apron, bonnet, side panels, doors, wheelarches, roof, trunk lid and rear deck.
Range Rover Evoque Sport back in the news
Fri, 04 May 2012Range Rover Evoque Sport - back in the news The Range Rover Evoque Sport is back in the news after Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern hinted at it in Beijing. Last year we reported that a Range Rover Evoque Sport is planned after David Mitchell, Land Rover’s Evoque program director, confessed he was driving an Evoque with the 2.0 litre Ecoboost petrol engine turned up to 300bhp. Even if David Mitchell hadn’t confessed his pimped ride it would still have been a very sensible assumption that Land Rover would add a Range Rover Evoque Sport to the range at some point.
Subaru Impreza Concept at LA
Thu, 18 Nov 2010The Subaru Impreza Concept revealed at LA Motor Show A new Subaru Impreza – or the Subaru Impreza Concept, to be precise – is not something we had on the radar for the Los Angeles Motor Show. In fact the only thing we really had on the radar for Subaru was perhaps the Subota Coupe; certainly not a new Impreza. Subaru aren’t calling the Impreza Concept the new Impreza, but I think we’ll assume there’s a clue in the name.
