The Pagani Huayra - Confirmed for the US Despite becoming a hypercar maker of renown – a major achievement in a little over a decade – Pagani has never sold cars in the US. Which means the delicious Zonda – in all its many iterations – has never been available  in the US market, and even imports from other parts of the world are impossible. The Touring Superleggera Disco Volante was the surprise winner of the Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes at 2013 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. It beat the likes of the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe, Aston Martin CC100, Infiniti Emerg-E and McLaren P1, although it should be said that BMW, as a major sponsor of the event, dosn't enter its cars into the vote. The Alfa Romeo-based sports car once again proved that if it's red Italian and with a Milanese connection, it's a dead cert for winning the prize, voted for by both the judges and the general public.

General Motors is looking at ways to double or triple Volt production

General Motors Co. CEO Dan Akerson says the carmaker is studying how it could double or triple production of the new Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid should sales demand accelerate. About 240,000 potential buyers have expressed an interest in the vehicle, but production in 2011 will be just 10,000 units.
