It had seemed that the V12 Mercedes SL 65 AMG would be a victim of the culling of V12 engines from car makers’ ranges as the imperative to cut emissions and reduce fuel consumption saw the glorious V12s replaced by smaller forced-induction engines. But not at Mercedes-Benz.

If you thought the ‘launch’ of the Pagani Huayra meant the end of the Pagani Zonda, you’d be mistake. Ford are planning to build 500 RS Clubsports as a farewell to the current version of the fast Focus. And it sounds like a hoot, with an extra 50bhp and less weight it will probably break the 5.0 second 0-60mph barrier.
