2006 Michelin Challenge Design seeks vehicle designs for California market
Tue, 08 Feb 2005Michelin issued a call for entries to the global design community this week to kick off the 2006 Michelin Challenge Design, one of the industry's fastest growing vehicle design forums. In the last four years, Michelin Challenge Design has been the catalyst for students in design universities, design firms, professional designers from top OEMs, and individual designers from all over the world to have their work exhibited at a major international auto show in support of a central theme. Last year, submissions were received from 50 countries worldwide with selected designs displayed at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in January.
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept

Based on the Gallardo supercar, the Sesto Elemento (six elements in the Italian sports car maker's native tongue) is a technological marvel, created entirely in carbon fiber to bring the vehicle's overall weight down to less than 1000kg. Fri, 10 Jun 2011Mark Higgins beats the TT course in to submission Tony Pond was a rally driver in the 1970s and ’80s, and he was rather good. Good enough to give the likes of Jimmy McRae a spanking from time to time and to drive in umpteen works cars, from Ford to Rover via Datsun. But Tony Pond is probably best remembered for piloting a Rover 827 Vitesse round the Isle of Man TT Circuit in 1990 at an average speed of over 100mph, the first time that had been done.
