Wed, 06 Jul 2011Ford Fiesta Sport Limited Edition Another day, another Fiesta limited edition, this time the Ford Fiesta Sport Special Edition. Must have taken forever to come up with that name. This is the follow on from the Fiesta 1600S – which other parts of Europe got as the Sport+ – but this time the name’s the same whether you’re in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands or Switzerland.
Lamborghini Egoista revealed at Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary celebrations UPDATED
Sun, 12 May 2013The Lamborghini Egoista (which translate as the Lamborghini ‘Selfish’) gets its name because it is designed as a single seater, purely for the pleasure of the driver. Designed by Walter De Silva, the Egoista sports dramatic styling that is said to be inspired by the Apache helicopter (and isn’t entirely successful – the Apache looks better) and extensively uses carbon fibre with a canopy that can be removed for real single-seat fresh air thrills. Power comes from the Gallardo’s 5.2 litre V10, although so far all Lamborghini has done is release a single photo of the Egoista (above), so we don’t yet know whether the Egoista will be a one-off special like the Aventador J, a short run at silly prices like the Veneno or just a concept that will never see the light of day again.

Fri, 19 Sep 2014In the decade before World War II, no other carmaker even came close to matching the combined dominance of Mercedes-Benz and recently founded Auto Union. Supported by Adolf Hitler's Nazi government, the two brands had grander plans to demonstrate Germany's technological supremacy. In August 1936, Auto Union engineer Ferdinand Porsche and race car driver Hans Stuck approached Wilhelm Kissel, chairman of Daimler-Benz, and presented a plan to build a car that would set a new land speed world record.
