Porsche Panamera Turbo S – 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds

Porsche has revealed the full details of its new Panamera Turbo S, and it’s a monster. Set to debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show in November, the Panamera Turbo S is no less than 50hp more powerful than the regular Panamera Turbo, and now sprints 0-62mph in less time than an Audi RS6. Or indeed the last generation Porsche 911 GT3.

R-S will extend across the Jaguar range It’s been a while since we played the speculation game with Jaguar, so it’s due. The last punt we had after a tip-off – apart from the XF 2.2 diesel Jaguar denied when we ran the story – was that Jaguar were planning on building an XJ Supersport Diesel. But long before that we heard that, there were rumblings of a more powerful petrol XJ Supersport too, an XJR, perhaps, or maybe an XJR-S or XJ Supersport S.

Chevrolet Volt, Sonic Super Bowl ads hit the Web

Chevrolet released its Super Bowl ads featuring the Volt with some intergalactic visitors and the Sonic with insects. In the Volt ad, despite the owner's best efforts to explain the concept of a gas/electric hybrid, the aliens are distracted and take an interest in the owner's wife when she comes out of the house. For the Sonic ad, titled “Joy,” for once bugs on the grille of a car isn't a bad thing.
