In fact, it’s starting to get a bit silly. You know the background; Top Gear did a review of the Tesla Roadster and implied it had a range of just 55 miles (although they did say that was on the Top Gear track), said that the motor overheated and reduced power (which they ‘illustrated’ with the Tesla slowing on a darkened track) and said the brakes broke (when a fuse had gone).

Mon, 02 Jul 2012Mercedes-Benz used the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed as the backdrop for the premiere of the definitive production version of its stylish new CLS shooting brake in Sussex, England. Set to go on sale across Europe in October, the new sporting wagon was given a production go-ahead by Mercedes boss Dieter Zetsche following positive reaction to the earlier E-class-based ConceptFascination prototype car unveiled at the 2008 Paris motor show and the subsequent CLS shooting brake show car wheeled out at the 2010 Beijing motor show. In this video, filmed at the awards ceremony that took place at the North American International Auto Show, judges explain the competition structure and the benefits that both GM and the students get from the experience. Winning students also reveal how participating in the competition provided a platform for them to launch their careers and gain exposure to the world's biggest carmakers.
