Ford preparing fastest ever four-door—in Australia
Mon, 02 Jul 2012Ford's struggling Australian outpost is set to unleash its fastest-accelerating car yet in the form of a limited- edition version of the four-door Falcon GT Boss 335 sedan running various chassis-based performance enhancements, according to Australian media reports. Known internally at the company's Ford Performance Vehicles division under the code name Panther, the Blue Oval's supersedan is set to run the same supercharged 5.0-liter V8 as the standard Falcon GT Boss 335—itself a locally developed version of the Mustang's 90-degree Coyote unit with unique cylinder heads and renamed Miami. It delivers 449 hp at 5,750 rpm and 420 lb-ft of torque at 2,200 rpm.
2011 Renault Laguna Facelift gets priced
Thu, 21 Oct 2010The 2011 Renault Laguna facelift gets priced We guess it’s easier to get your act together as a car maker to price a facelifted car than an all new car. Still, we applaud Renault for managing to get UK prices for the 2011 Renault Laguna Facelift sorted in a month since the 2011 Laguna appeared at the Paris Motor Show, especially as it took VW eight months to let UK buyers know how much it wanted for the 2011 Sharan.
Parking fines hit £30 per month
Fri, 20 Sep 2013BRITISH motorists pay more than £30 million each month in parking fines, figures suggest. More tickets are being issued this year by councils than last year and there has been a 13% rise in fines issued on a Sunday, according to data obtained by LV=. The car insurer calculated councils have handed out more than 890,000 parking fines per month in 2013 - a 4% increase on 2012 figures - and, based on an average amount of £42 per ticket and excluding any successful appeals, drivers are now paying in excess of £30 million each month.
