Manufacturer's Description:
An External Wastegate (EWG) allows exhaust gases to be diverted prior to entering the turbo. This facilitates lower backpressure at the turbine, allowing for increased boost control, faster spool-up and greater top-end power. The GrimmSpeed EWG Up Pipe has a larger internal diameter than your stock unit, allowing a higher volume of exhaust gas to reach your turbo more efficiently. This helps maintain boost levels further into your RPM range. Depending on your specific setup, these improvements can net a 10-40 HP increase. An internal wastegate can create a larger amount of turbulence in exhaust flow through your turbine housing; moving to an external wastegate eliminates much of that turbulence and isolates the turbo from what little turbulence still exists as your wastegate opens and closes.

Meeke Makes Magic Monte Debut

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

A LITTLE over a decade since a Brit last stood on the podium in Monte Carlo, works Citroen driver Kris Meeke finished the opening round of the 2014 World Rally Championship in third place. After enduring rain, snow and challenging road conditions, Meeke finished an impressive third in his DS3 rally car behind 2013 champion and Monte winner Sebastien Ogier’s Volkswagen Polo and local hero and Ford privateer Bryan Bouffier. The dream result comes after Meeke and co-driver Paul Nagle were handed a full works drive by the ultra successful Citroen team at the end of last year.

Acura ILX concept

Thu, 26 Jan 2012

The luxury compact sedan is set to launch later this year, representing a move by Acura into the compact premium class for the first time in order to attract younger buyers into Honda's upmarket range. The car features a slimmer version of the Acura shield grille and lamps that are cut into by the bumper surface. In profile, the ILX's silhouette, DLO, and rear door shut line are reminiscent of the Lexus IS, but Acura's rising feature line, which forms a visual muscle over the rear wheel (despite front-wheel drive architecture) adds a level of distinction.
