Gross Mech Lab RV 20 raw water strainer oil cooler.

Absolutely awesome piece!

Removed from a 1945 Kermath marine conversion of the Willys Jeep engine. Its cast iron mounting bracket bolts directly to the Willys block where the water pump would normally be. It strains fresh raw water as it is pumped into the engines' exhaust intake manifold and utilizes that water as a 'water-jacket' - cooling oil circulating through it to the transmission/gearbox.

While Kermath designed this for marine purposes utilizing water and engine oil, you could use it with a variety of fluids such as coolant, power steering, or transmission fluid. This antique bronze heat exchanger would stand out bolted to the firewall of an an old t-bucket and not only be something uniquely distinct but functional!

The cast iron piece has had a welded repair but is hardly noticeable. The canister has been refurbished (and had little use to begin with) and is in fantastic, working condition.

Item is guaranteed to work - given appropriate application and fitment, per manufacturer guidelines.

Winners of the 'Ultimate LA Machine' Design Challenge announced

Sat, 22 Jan 2005

The judges of the Los Angeles Auto Show's Design Challenge have named the Dodge Superbee and Volkswagen Mobile Lounge as joint-winners of the first ever automobile design studio competition. Designer Reto Brun of Volkswagen/Audi Design Center California said his studio considered two Los Angeles issues when designing the Volkswagen Mobile Lounge - an antidote to traffic and a better option for the area's "limo-centric" entertainment culture. Whisper-quiet fuel cell technology whisks occupants towards their destination while electronically controlled tinted glass, an open living space and innumerable in-car amenities provide a supremely comfortable environment.

2011 Chrysler 300C: Official

Tue, 21 Dec 2010

2011 Chrysler 300C - launches at the 2011 Detroit Motor Show The Chrysler 300C may not be the biggest seller in the UK – although it is loved by chauffeur companies looking for a cheap ‘Limo’ – but it is still a common enough occurrence on British roads for news of a 2011 Chrysler 300C to be of interest to UK as well as US readers. The facelift for the 2011 300C is not the most comprehensive ever seen, but the exterior does get a bit of a workover with a new grille, LEDs and a more rakish windscreen which makes the 300C look a bit less like a ‘box on a box’ in profile. Oh, and Chrysler has stuffed lumps of extra chrome wherever it can, although we doubt if they will make the Euro version.
