Vauxhall Ampera is 2012 European Car of the Year
Mon, 05 Mar 2012The Opel/Vauxhall Ampera has been crowned European Car of the Year for 2012. The winner was announced today at a ceremony at the 2012 Geneva motor show. The votes of the 59 jurors from 23 European countries ranked the Ampera first, from a shortlist comprising Citroen DS5, Fiat Panda, Ford Focus, Opel/Vauxhall Ampera/Chevrolet Volt, Range Rover Evoque, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Up.
Hartmut Warkuss to receive 2014 EyesOn Design Catalyst Award
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Hartmut Warkuss, former head of Volkswagen Design, will be awarded the 2014 Catalyst Award by EyesOn Design at next week's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Warkuss, who is credited with overseeing the design of the Bugatti Veyron, the VW Concept (new Beetle) and the Audi TT Concept, will be presented with the award by Peter Schreyer, Hyundai's president and chief design officer and the 2014 recipient of the EyesOn Design Lifetime Design Achievement Award. Range Rover Evoque updated for Frankfurt Motor Show 2013
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Land Rover has updated the Range Rover Evoque for 2014 with a series of new technological features. The key addition is a new nine-speed automatic gearbox but the firm says detail changes have been made throughout – making it smarter, more tech-savvy and greener. The new Range Rover Evoque will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, before going on sale later in 2013 in time for the 2014 model year.
