This control switch is from a 1972 Suzuki GT550 I bought with the intention of putting back on the road.  As it turns out, it's in worse overall condition than I thought and worth more for parts, so I'll work an different project instead.

I don't know much about the history of the bike... best I can tell from the license plate and title, the bike was probably last on the road in 1984.  The title was signed and dated as sold in 1987.  The odometer reads 24,000 plus miles.  The guy I got it from said he found it in a barn last February and after riding it around a field awhile it died.  He said he put new points in it and it hasn't run since.

Before removing the switch I turned on the ignition and operated the turn signals... the switch worked fine for the turn signals.  The horn doesn't work and the headlight is already removed, so I couldn't check those parts of the switch.

There's only 1 screw in the switch because the RH switch screws were missing, so I used one from this switch to hold the halves of the RH switch together.

Please look closely at the pictures and ask questions if you need to before bidding.

I'll combine shipping with other items I have for sell if you happen to win multiple items.

Paris bans some cars to cut smog

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

PARIS is taking drastic measures to combat its worst air pollution in years, banning around half of the city's cars and trucks from its streets in an attempt to reduce the toxic smog that has shrouded the French capital for more than a week. Cars with even-numbered licence plates were prohibited from driving in Paris and its suburbs today, following a government decision over the weekend. Around 700 police were patrolling the morning rush-hour, handing out tickets to offenders.

Avoiding the California Highway Patrol on the Autoweek America Adventure

Sun, 30 Oct 2011

"Damn revenuers," said Tommy Kendall. "They are draped all along the side of the road." He spoke, of course, about the California Highway Patrol, whose strategically positioned cars--and subsequent laser-detection devices and KA-band radar--were lighting up this two-lane south of Klamath Falls, Ore., less than two miles inside the state line. It's a fact of economics, especially in California, a state that's running out of money faster than Greece.

Kiss and Mini team up to raise money for UNICEF

Thu, 21 Apr 2011

To help fund global relief efforts, Mini will auction four Countrymans emblazoned with the makeup likeness and autographs of Kiss band members. Just in time for Father’s Day, the eBay charity auction opens on May 29 and runs for 10 days. Funds will go to UNICEF to help children in Japan and to aid in other global emergencies.
