2014 Subaru WRX and STI pricing released
Thu, 08 Aug 2013The Subaru WRX and WRX STI are now in their final model year before they're replaced by an all-new version, and Subaru has just released prices for the 2014 model year. Both cars get a $200 bump for 2014, and destination charges rise, too. The 265-hp 2014 WRX will now start at $26,790 and will be keeping its 2.5-liter turbocharged and intercooled four-cylinder boxer engine and five-speed manual transmission.
European Parliament: electric cars must make noise
Thu, 03 Apr 2014The European Parliament has voted in favour of a European Commission proposal to decrease the maximum allowed noise for new cars, vans, trucks, buses and coaches, in an effort to reduce “vehicle noise nuisance” by 25%. At the same time, the EU has voted in favour of a proposal to force carmakers to fit electric and hybrid electric vehicles with a sound generating device, to improve low speed safety for pedestrians and the visually impaired. 'Four out of five' drivers support speed cameras
Mon, 25 Nov 2013FOUR OUT OF FIVE drivers in the UK are in favour of speed cameras and think they are useful in reducing injuries on our roads. Research by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) shows 80% of British drivers supports speed cameras, though there is still scepticism about the positioning of some caemras. Half (52%) of those polled by the IAM said they did not believe speed cameras are only positioned at the sites where accidents have occurred.
