Kia four-door sports sedan concept
Fri, 19 Aug 2011Kia isn't giving much away about its Frankfurt-bound concept car, indeed it hasn't even released its name yet, referring to it as the 'four-door sports sedan concept.' The press release talks of it as 'signalling a distinctive new design direction' for the Korean brand, yet the now-familiar 'tiger-nose' grille and Optima-esque A-pillar/cant rail/C-pillar highlight are very much in evidence. "No matter from which perspective you look at it - this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off," says Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer."I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter." IAM Highlights Concerns Of Driving With Dementia
Thu, 03 Apr 2014THE Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) has revealed through a new survey that a decline in cognitive abilities – for example the onset of dementia – is the greatest concern that families have about elderly relatives driving. Forty-two per cent of people who have concerns about an older relative driving have tried to discuss this with them. According to the IAM, people with dementia may still be able to drive safely for some time after it has been diagnosed, but because of the progressive nature of the disease, there will come a time when they have to give up.
Gemballa South African murder: man convicted
Wed, 03 Nov 2010South African police have managed to arrest, try and convict a man for the brutal murder of Uwe Gemballa – all in the space of a day. Thaibiso Mpshe, 28, from Pretoria, was convicted for the murder or Gemballa, whose body was found in October 2010. He had been shot in the back of the head.
