Shortlisted entries have been announced for the 2011 Interior Motives Student Design Awards. After individual deliberation by our panel of renowned senior designers, students being tutored at colleges in a diverse range of countries including Israel, the Czech Republic, Australia, Taiwan, Canada and China, as well as in the established centres of Europe, the USA and Japan/Korea, have made the 68-strong shortlist of potential winners. McLaren announces markets for MP4-12C

McLaren announced 35 markets where it will sell the Formula-One-inspired MP4-12C on Friday, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Toronto. Ten markets in the North America will sell the ultra-light, high-performance sports car starting in the spring of 2011. Other global markets include London, Monaco, Paris, Frankfurt, Kuwait and Johannesburg.

The same people who brought us the brilliant Clio Cup are behind the four-wheel steer system on this Laguna’s Active Drive chassis. Twenty years ago Japanese car makers seemed fascinated by the potential benefits of steering cars using both axles (and not just by nailing the throttle in your Starion) but the idea seemed to have disappeared until now.
