Tue, 18 May 2010The Toyota Auris Hybrid UK starts at £19k and arrives in July Toyota has had more than their fair share of woes this year, what with the Throttlegate recalls and loss of confidence in Toyota as a result, not just by buyers but by investors. But Toyota are fighting back and pushing ahead with their ‘Green Dream’ of delivering a hybrid for every occasion (we ask every time, but why?) and have now confirmed trim and price for the UK-built Toyota Auris Hybrid. Starting price – when the Auris Hybrid hits the market in the UK in July – will be £18,950.

Well, apart from the interior, that is, but we’ll have to wait until Pebble for that. This time Infiniti tease us with the only view we haven’t had so far of the JX - the front three quarters.
Toyota: Runaway Prius accounts ‘inconsistent' with testing
Mon, 15 Mar 2010Toyota is challenging the accounts of a motorist whose Prius sped out of control last week in San Diego, calling his reports of the incident “inconsistent” with the initial findings of the company. Toyota released the results after two days of testing on a 2008 Prius hybrid that sped out of control last week in California, and it maintained that the car's brakes and throttle functioned properly. The now-infamous incident occurred on March 8, when a Prius driven by James Sikes was reported in a 911 call to be speeding uncontrollably.
