Hard bag mounting brackets

Some hard bag brackets are cheap and flimsy. These are the opposite.  Set of four.  They are sturdy, heavy-duty brackets.  They are cast metal that is chrome plated.  Each weighs just a few ounces under a pound and is 9” long.

The top (long arm) attaches to the rear fender support arm.  Bolt these through the bracket to the fender support arms.  The short arms are offset to provide clearance for shocks, drivelines, etc. The holes are threaded to allow bolting the saddlebags to the brackets.  I will include printed instructions.

I just used these brackets to put hard bags on a VTX 1800 and they worked great.  They are universal fit and can work with most motorcycles.

Making your own?  I just had some chrome plating done and it would have cost about $30 each piece to chrome plate these.  This is probably a better deal.

Toyota: Runaway Prius accounts ‘inconsistent' with testing

Mon, 15 Mar 2010

Toyota is challenging the accounts of a motorist whose Prius sped out of control last week in San Diego, calling his reports of the incident “inconsistent” with the initial findings of the company. Toyota released the results after two days of testing on a 2008 Prius hybrid that sped out of control last week in California, and it maintained that the car's brakes and throttle functioned properly. The now-infamous incident occurred on March 8, when a Prius driven by James Sikes was reported in a 911 call to be speeding uncontrollably.

Art installation moves 100,000 toy cars an hour

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

IT'S NO PICASSO, but this installation by conceptual artist Chris Burden certainly has the potential to be moving. Called Metropolis II, this amazing construction took Chris and his chief engineer four years to design and create and expands significantly on Metropolis I - the latest version has 18 roadways including one six-lane carriageway. It also has a rail network with HO-scale model trains, and running at capacity it pumps 100,000 cars around its network at a scale speed of 230mph.
