Audi Urban Concept again, this time with photos and detail
Mon, 12 Sep 2011Audi Urban Concept EV- just a posh toy car It looks like we may have to dub the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show the EV Go-Kart show, such is the proliferation of fun – if ultimately rather pointless – electric go-karts. And today, just ahead of its debut, we get real photos and decent detail on the Audi Urban Concept EV. We’ve had the teasers for the Audi Urban Concept and a set of CGI images a few weeks ago, but now we get photos of the real car (is car the right word?) and some detail about its powertrain and abilities.
Saab 9-3 production starts again – cars to be sold online to Swedish buyers
Mon, 02 Dec 2013The petrol-engined Saab 9-3 is back in production Many thought, after the fiasco that was the demise of Saab after GM’s ownership – that there would never be a new Saab built at Trollhatten again. And, in many ways, they were right. They were right because the new owners of Saab, National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), intend making electric cars in the future, and even though they will get a Saab badge, they won’t be allowed to use the Griffin logo.
Range Rover Sport sets desert crossing record
Tue, 05 Nov 2013A RANGE Rover Sport has set a new record for the fastest crossing of one of the harshest desert environments on Earth. The new off-roader, which was standard apart from an additional protection plate under the chassis, crossed the Empty Quarter in the Middle East between Wadi Adda Wasir in Saudi Arabia and the border of the United Arab Emirates in 10 hours and 22 minutes at an average speed of 51.87mph. Covering 530 miles en route to the new record, the Range Rover Sport was driven by veteran Dakar rally expert Moi Torrallardona, a man who understands everything there is to know about driving large off-road vehicles in demanding desert conditions.
