Driverless lorries to be trialled on UK roads
Mon, 18 Aug 2014Convoys of driverless trucks could be trialled on UK roads as soon as next year, with plans to roll them out on quiet motorways in the near future. Road trains of up to 10 lorries could be controlled by a driver in a single lead vehicle, with the rest of the trucks connected using wifi. Fri, 22 Mar 2013The new McLaren P1 supercar is heading for the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed to make its driving debut in the Supercar run. We’ve also had McLaren F1 new boy Sergio Perez driving the P1 round the Top Gear Dunsfold track and Ron Dennis telling us he got round the Top Gear track in the P1 a good 10 seconds quicker than any other road car ever has. But now we’re actually going to see the McLaren P1 driven in anger.
Suzuki take Volkswagen to court

VW wanted an easy way in to the car market in India – where Suzuki is very strong – and in return Suzuki wanted access to the sort of technology – hybrid and EV – it couldn’t really afford to develop independently. And all looked rosy when VW took a near 20 per cent stake in Suzuki in 2009 But things started to go a bit awry when VW insensitively referred to Suzuki as an ‘associate’, where it could pull all the right strings, in its annual report.
