Jaguar plots new flagship coupe as XK bows out (2014)

The Ian Callum-penned coupe and convertible models, which have jointly sold more than 54,000 units since arriving in 2006, have been canned with no direct replacement in the pipeline. Instead, Jaguar is plotting a stunning £110,000 flagship to rival the Aston Martin DB9 and Bentley Continental GT.

This is the new Mini Roadster - a second convertible for those who find the Mini Convertible a bit too pedestrian. The new Mini Roadster is based on the Coupe, meaning a different rear deck and - with the roof folded - no more pram-like hood antics stacked on top of the boot. The rear end is pleasingly flush.

There is always a plethora of wonderful cars on display during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, and also some not so wonderful, like the Spyker B6 Venator and Laraki Epitome. This year, one of the cars stood out with its bright orange color and unusual styling – the Lincoln Indianapolis Boano Coupé. In 1953, after nine years spent leading the famous Carrozzeria Ghia, Felice Mario Boano left to focus on his own enterprise: Carrozzeria Boano.
