The i8 is remarkably similar to the original Vision ED Concept, although it has dumped the 1.5 litre diesel the Concept has for a new 1.5 litre petrol engine with direct injection which develops 220bhp and 221lb/ft of torque.

Saleen announces new electric supercar

Californian tuner and sometimes supercar-builder Saleen has confirmed it is working on an all-new electric car, with plans to debut the new model in 2015. Perhaps best known for the 248mph Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, which went out of production in 2009, the firm specialises in providing performance upgrades for modern American muscle cars, including the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. New Mustang Finally Comes To UK

FORD has unveiled its latest generation Mustang muscle car, which for the first time will come to the UK in right-hand drive form. The car, which will go on sale towards the end of 2014, claims to be lighter and more advanced than its predecessor. Also new is a 2.3-litre, 305 horsepower engine, which Ford hopes will boost the Mustang’s eco credentials in Europe without detracting from the car’s performance.
