Fresh from a barn in Maine.  This is a rare 10 spoke, dual disc cast front  wheel that is in like new condition.  This wheel stems from the late 1980's and early 1990's.  The factory used this style front brake rotor mounting design until 1995.  This has the five individual mounting spots rather than a solid circumfrence pad with the 5 holes drilled in it. The new design started in 1996 on the Fatboy front wheels.  The finish is great.  The polished highlights still shine.  There are no curb hits and no road rash or crash damage on the rim or the tire.  The valve stem is missing but is easily replaced.  The tire is still broken down from when the valve stem was removed when this wheel was replaced with a regular Fatboy soild disc wheel.  The Wide Whitewall Dunlap front tire has only a few miles on it.  The mold studs are worn off in the middle but not on the outter part of the tread.  The tire is like new and is not damaged.  The rotor bolt holes are all in great condition and no threads are damaged.  The internals are not there, but are readily available at most shops.  This was removed from a 1986 to 99 Heritage or Fatboy front end.  This is a fine front wheel that will dress up any wide glide front end it is installed on.  There will be no dissapointments with this wheel and tire.  Thank you for looking and please check my other auctions for more old HARLEY part.

Kia Soul EV revealed at the Chicago Motor Show

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

The new Kia Soul EV (pictured) has been revealed in Chicago The Kia Soul EV is Kia’s first effort at a proper mass production EV, and if you’re looking for an electric car it does look promising. Due to go on sale later in 2014 in the US – initially in California, New York and Oregan because of their charging infrastructure – and, Kia promised, the UK and Europe later in 2014 or early 2015, the Soul EV offers a real world driving range of 80-100 miles from a recharge taking half an hour for 80 per cent on a rapid 50kW charger or up to 5 hours for a full recharge from a UK 240 volt supply. The range is helped by Kia’s third-generation regenerative braking system which manages to capture 12 per cent of the car’s kinetic energy, feeding it back in to the battery as electricity during braking and coasting, with four different regeneration modes.

BMW ActiveE – the BMW 1-Series Electric – at Detroit

Tue, 12 Jan 2010

BMW has reveled the BMW Concept ActiveE at the Detroit Motor Show BMW obviously think there’s room for more than just the MINI E to be punted round the roads by Joe Public to shake out all the wrinkles in their electric car gubbins as they’ve brought along the BMW ActiveE Concept to the Detroit Motor Show – basically an electric BMW 1 Series – which we first reported on back in December. The ActiveE Concept gets a rear mounted electric motor that divvies up 170bhp. Unlike the MINI E BMW has managed to stick the batteries under the car instead of ripping out the back seats to store them.
