Nissan GT Academy winners too fast for British GT
Thu, 21 Feb 2013For those who say that video-game skills can't translate into real life, we'd like to point you to the case of Nissan GT Academy Team RJN versus the officials of the British GT Championship. In 2012, Nissan GT Academy champion Jann Mardenborough entered the British GT Championship as an amateur with Alex Buncombe as the pro in a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3.
2012 Porsche Boxster unveiled
Thu, 12 Jan 20122012 Porsche Boxster revealed The 2012 Porsche Boxster has been revealed with a new lightweight body, revised chassis and engines – and looking much the same as the old Boxster. The 2012 Porsche Boxster (or, as always, if you’re on the other side of the Pond, the 2013 Porsche Boxster) has been revealed, not at the Detroit Auto Show, but, just as Audi did yesterday with the A6 Allroad, as a diversion from the car antics in North America. Looking, as you would expect from Porsche, little different to the current Boxster, the new Porsche Boxster does however get a thorough makeover of body, engines and chassis to make the new Boxster fit to fight for another decade (or so).
Skoda drives along Popular memory lane
Thu, 05 Jun 2014A EUROPEAN car enthusiast is recreating a remarkable British journey first completed 90 years ago by a famous Czech writer, and is driving a 77-year-old Skoda Popular. The milestone car, Skoda's first to sell in big numbers across Europe, is well into a three-week journey around the UK in the hands of car nut Zdeněk Vacek, starting and finishing at the Czech Embassy in London and visiting many of the cities featured in famous Czech writer Karel Čapek's 1924 tome Letters from England. The Popular itself can celebrate its 80th birthday at the same time, having first appeared to widespread acclaim in 1934.
