MY LATCH IS THE EXACT OEM FRANZEN LATCH THAT YOU WOULD RECEIVE FROM HARLEY BUT IN A COMPLETE PACKAGE INCLUDING MY DIRECTIONS AND PRE-TAPPED LATCH WITH THE CORRECT LENGTH SCREWS. Also note that the sellers have different names but are using the same exact pictures and chose to use a light blue background in their listings. Please do not confuse them with some of my listings with the same light blue background. I have been using this background for over four years. REMEMBER, CHROME MAY SHINE BUT HAS NO BEARING ON THE QUALITY OR FUNCTION OF A MOVING PART. Also fast shipping is useless if you need to return the product.  If you chose to purchase the aftermarket latches that are listed cheaper then I can sell the OEM latches for, I do advise you to confirm the function using the following methods: First try opening and closing the latch a few times. Second, try to see if you can make the latch fit or mate with the hasp received with your order. If you are happy, good luck with your aftermarket purchase. LATCHES ARE OEM, NOT AFTER-MARKET

TOM'S CUSTOM MADE BRUSHED ALUMINUM SPACERS FIT THE LATCH BODY UNLIKE THE PLASTIC ONES THAT WERE DESIGNED FOR THE PRESTO LATCH DESIGNED IN THE EARLY 1980s AND THOSE LATCHES HAVEN'T BEEN MADE SINCE THE MID 1990s! DON'T JUST BELIEVE ME. PLACE YOUR PLASTIC SPACER ON THE BACK OF YOUR FRANZEN LATCH AND NOTICE THEY DO NOT MATCH. CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR.

IN MY NEW SET OF INSTRUCTIONS, I ALSO ILLUSTRATE HOW TO MOUNT THE SPACERS SO EVEN IF YOUR LATCH EVER COMES LOOSE AND FALLS OFF ON THE ROAD, YOU WON'T LOSE YOU NEW ALUMINUM SPACER.

THESE LATCHES WILL FIT ALL BIKES FROM 1980's TO PRESENT.   THESE LATCHES WILL ALSO REPLACE THE OLDER STYLE PRESTO LATCH WHEN REPLACING BOTH HASP AND LATCH WHICH ARE INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION. THE OLDER STYLE PRESTO LATCH LOOKS SIMILAR, BUT PART OF THE UPPER HASP SHOWS THROUGH THE LATCH FACE WHEN CLOSED. IF YOUR LATCH DID NOT HAVE A RIVETED HASP PLEASE CONTACT ME PRIOR TO ORDERING. I WILL BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR NEEDS PERFECTLY UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE MY SCREW ON HASP. 

IF YOU ARE REPLACING THE OLDER PRESTO LATCH OR A HASP THAT WAS NOT RIVETED ON, CONTACT ME BEFORE ORDERING WITH THAT INFORMATION.

THE LOWER LATCH PARTS THAT ATTACH TO THE BOTTOM OF THE TOUR PACK, WHEN RECEIVED NEW FROM HARLEY,  HAVE HOLES REQUIRING THE USE OF THE ORIGINAL SELF TAPPING SCREWS ONLY .  I HAVE THREADED THE SCREW HOLES, MAKING INSTALLING  THEM A BREEZE. DO NOT USE SELF TAPPING SCREWS. THEY ARE THE MAIN CAUSE OF THE FAILURE OF THE MOUNT!

NOTE: THESE ARE BRAND NEW AND IT IS HARD TO GET A PERFECT PICTURE DUE TO THE REFLECTION ON THE CHROME, BUT YOU CAN SEE THE CLOUDS IN THE PRETTY FLORIDA SKY.

Also included in this listing are (two) 2 lid hasps that have been adapted for use with screws.

The hasp is the part that is originally riveted to the lid.

I adapted the hasp to be secured via screws or rivets.  

The screws for the hasp are included in this listing permitting the replacement  of  the hasps without using rivets.

Rivets may still be used, but are not included with this listing. 

I provide the custom made aluminum spacers and I have made the necessary modifications to the rivet on the hasp to allow it to work without damaging the edge of the lid. Harley does not have a screw on hasp to accomodate your tour pack or hard bag lid  that had a riveted hasp originally. So any part numbers listed for the hasp as a screw on hasp being advertised elsewhere is incorrect and the hasp will not work on the lid of the tour pack that had a rivited hasp. When Harley sold that hasp it was used on some hard bags and some older tour pack lids usually only seen with the Presto latch.
