Harley-Davidson Paint & Color Reference Manual - 1903 to 2005.   (Note:  After 10 years and hundreds of  copies sold I am ending publication of this booklet after the end of the 2013 calendar year.   The demand just isn't there anymore,  so if you are thinking of buying a copy you have till 12/31/13. After that  these are gone for good. Thanks to all the great customers who have purchased this valuable resource guide.)

This is the most comprehensive listing of paint schemes and colors used by Harley - Davidson outside of the archives in Milwaukee.  Included are Standard Production colors and Special Order colors listed for 102 years.  It covers almost all models including produced:  A, B, J,F, JD, VL,DL, RL, UL, WL WLA, EL, FL, FLH, Knucklehead, Panhead, K-model, Sprint, Sportster, Shovelhead, Evo, V-Rod and Twin Cam models. Also included are appendices listing the available colors from the Custom Vehicle Shop for 1984 to 2005 and Color Shop Custom Order colors from 1995 to 2005.  I have also included a listing of paint color code numbers based on the PPG paint number system. It covers about 75%,  but not all of the standard production and many special order colors. I owned a custom painting business for over 32 years and when I retired I took all the factory color information I had available and condensed it into this booklet to put it all in one place for fast and easy reference. Check the feedback reviews for this booklet...hundreds of pleased customers from around the world!  The booklet has  27 pages and in addition to the factory standard colors I have 212 colors for special order options plus addendums....one for special order colors from the 60's and up and another for Police Dept. colors from the late 40's and up.  Last revision added 17 more early pre-1941 color codes and 9 Postwar Panhead color codes -  all color matched from museum restored examples. Plus you get a 3 page supplement with all the paint names and color codes for the Radical Custom Color Shop Paint jobs through 2004.  It even has the pinstripe information.  This is a sole source document with an information base that isn't even available anywhere else....not even from Harley-Davidson!  Note: This booklet does not have color chips.  The cost of providing those would be enormous.  And, again publication is coming to a close so if you think you'd like a copy please purchase before the end of the year.

Please read this all the way through. For the most part all sales are final so please know what you are bidding on and ask questions. I will accept returns only if the item is not as described in the ad. I recommend insurance against damage during shipping but you need to request it. I accept PayPal and all auctions must be paid for within 4 days of the end of the auction. Foreign buyers are welcome but please be aware that the cost of international shipping has increased about 50% this last year. Request a quote before bidding. Sorry, but no sales at all to the Russian Federation or South America. I do combine shipping on multipal items.  Thanks for looking and happy riding.

Toyota FT-86 II: The second coming of the Toyobaru FT-86

Wed, 26 Jan 2011

Toyota FT-86 II Tease Just last week we finally got the first concrete news on the Subaru half of the Toyobura project that seems to have been bouncing around forever. Well, certainly since Toyota first rolled out the Toyota FT-86 Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2009. Which made is believe that the whole Rear-Wheel Drive Sports Car Technology Concept designed to deliver an affordable, traditional-style rear-wheel drive sports car at a sensible price (when we first saw the Toyota FT-86 we were told around £17.5k ) was finally going to bear fruit.

Monterey Motorsports Reunion 2013 at Laguna Seca

Sun, 18 Aug 2013

The air is full of dust and hydrocarbons, the noise is ear-splitting and there are more V8s on the grid than you can shake a con-rod at. It must be the Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca, the most action-packed portion of Pebble Beach and Monterey car week. For three days every August some of the most historic racing cars gather to take to one of the world’s most challenging racing circuits, in the hills above Monterey.
