Porsche 911 (2011) the leaked images of the 991
Thu, 18 Aug 2011This is the new Porsche 911, and these images have been leaked ahead of the car’s official debut at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September. This Porsche 911 actually looks a little different to the current rear-engined icon… Codenamed 991, the new 911 is all-new, and while the silhouette is instantly recognisable (and we’d swear those doors are identical) the bow and stern are obviously altered. It’s the rear that’s changed the most, with ultra-slim LED lights and a much wider but more neatly integrated pop-up rear spoiler.
Ford Focus RS500 revealed for Europe
Mon, 29 Mar 2010We've been clamoring for the European Ford Focus, and the Blue Oval finally acquiesced. But no matter how hard we beg, the most sinister Focus in the world isn't coming to the United States. But that doesn't stop us from drooling all over the RS500, which broke cover on Monday, packing 345 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque.
VW Group planning 10-speed DSG, new powerful diesel engine & more plug-in hybrids
Sun, 28 Apr 2013The end of the internal combustion engine is nigh, they say, as the world tries to clean up its environmental act and works towards a goal of electric motors to power our personal transport. But car makers are fighting that belief by extracting more power for less fuel from ICE engines, and there’s still a very long way to go before the ICE engine is consigned to the history books. Volkswagen has already reduced the fuel consumption of both their diesel and petrol engines by 30 per cent since 2000 and plan a further reduction of 15 per cent by 2020.
