2013 Peugeot RCZ Facelift & RCZ R Concept
Wed, 12 Sep 2012Peugeot has revealed a facleift for the 2013 RCZ and a new, 260bhp concept as a new range topper – the Peugeot RCZ R. When we first reviewed the Peugeot RCZ we liked it a lot, but we thought it was a shame that the RCZ had Peugeot’s old nose and we thought it could do with a bit more get up and go. Ferrari California Handling Speciale (2012) first pictures
Thu, 16 Feb 2012This is Ferrari’s revised California, which will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March 2012. It’s got more power, weighs less, and can be optioned with a chassis-sharpening Handling Speciale package, all features scooped by CAR last year. The California caused quite a stir when it was launched, ushering in a whole host of firsts for Ferrari: it was the company’s first convertible with a folding metal roof; the first with a double-clutch gearbox, the first front-engined V8 Ferrari, and the first with direct-injection engine technology.
Formula 1 2012: The Cars [w/video]
Tue, 07 Feb 2012Nine of the 12 Formula 1 teams have released images and details of their cars for the 2012 World Championship as the first day of pre-season testing draws to a close at the Jerez circuit in Spain. Motor sport may fall slightly outside of Car Design News' usual remit, but the big story this year is the new 'stepped nose', which all teams bar McLaren have introduced to comply with new safety regulations, much to the chagrin of aestheticists. And with designers such as Daniel Simon (he produced the livery for HRT last season) and Peter Stevens (most notable for the Brabham cars of the 1980s) involved with the sport over the years, it's always interesting to check out the season's new machines.
