Toyota and Lexus cars may have problems with stalling engines
Thu, 01 Jul 2010More than a quarter-million Toyota cars sold worldwide--including many Lexus cars--have engines that may suddenly stall while the car is moving, Toyota said on Thursday. So far, Toyota has not recalled the vehicles, which total about 270,000 units. And its announcement in Japan did not say how Toyota discovered the problem.
SEMA ups scholarship money for car-crazed college kids
Mon, 07 Jan 2013The Specialty Equipment Market Association, better known to most of us as SEMA, has announced a hefty boost to its SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund for 2013: The top student selected now gets $1,000 more for a total of $5,000 toward an automotive-related college education. Other eligible participants in four-year programs get $3,000—last year, they only received $2,000—and two-year students get their funds doubled to $2,000. In the Buckeye State, one lucky student at the Ohio Technical College will get complete tuition coverage, which is a cool $29,400.
Fuel duty freeze is 'no give-away'

But Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin's insistence on the value of HS2 to the UK cut little ice with opponents of the high-speed rail scheme. On fuel duty, both the AA and the RAC pointed out that Mr Osborne was already getting big sums from motorists in taxation.
