. ...You are bidding on what looks like a nice old original pair of World War 2 era Gas Tank PAINTED STEEL Emblems. ...These PAINTED STEEL Emblems were used from 1943 to early 1946 unlike all the other Chrome Plated BRASS emblems made and used from 1940 to 1942 and then on some late 1946 models. I'm guessing those models included Knuckleheads. UL Big Twin Flatheads and 45's but i'm not sure about Servi-Cars?? . ...I'm guessing that these were repainted recently some sort of light yellow rattle can paint and then someone tried to take the yellow off with some sort of solvent?? If I had to guess from what I see now these MIGHT have been black with yellow triangles?? But I could be wrong? .Maybe the yellow can be removed? Or maybe not?? .. They are pretty straight but there are a few minor wavy spots around the edges. They do have some rust on the inside as shown but it is not cancerous as it only appears to be surface rust. The backsides look like they MIGHT be Nickel Plated? . ...The also have the circled letter "G"" that is very readable on one of them. The other one has a very very faint shadow of that G that barely can be seen but it is there if you look close enough in the right light with a magnifying glass. I have no doubt these have been a matched pair since birth. ...Either put these on a barn bike as is or strip and repaint for a driver. ...They do have some minor ripples and dings but they are fairly straight and not all warped or bent up. ...The rounded edges all the way around are not flatten and distorted like some you see. ...Provisions on both ends for mounting are nice with no cracks or egged out cracked holes.. The last photo shows them attached to a magnet so you can see they are steel and not brass. . . ...Please check your parts books to be sure these are correct for your application as all sales are final. .........If you want more photos, a better description or a quote on shipping please ask but not at the last second!............. Tue, 03 Jul 2012After a tease last week McLaren Automotive has revealed the convertible MP4-12C – the McLaren 12C Spider. We did think there was a chance McLaren would try to steal Ferrari’s thunder by revealing the convertible version of the MP4-12C at Goodwood this last weekend, but they didn’t. But today the McLaren 12C Spider (not the MP4-12C Spider) is officially revealed, and by the look of it no one will be buying the MP4-12C any more.
Bentley SUV confirmed for production
Mon, 23 Jul 2012A Bentley worker has told the Sentinel that the Bentley EXP 9 F – the Bentley SUV – is confirmed for production. It obviously didn’t seem like a big deal to the reporter at Staffordshire’s Sentinel newspaper when a Bentley employee told them that the Bentley SUV was going in to production and would guarantee employment for the next 14 years. But it is a big deal.
