Hayes 81770 Endeavor Digital Proportional Brake Controller
Digital, proportional, accelerometer brake controller designed for use on single, tandem, tri or quad braking trailers. Digital, diagnostic read-out. No level adjustment required. The Endeavor is the top of the line in brake controllers. This controller has the ability to sense deceleration of the tow vehicle, which provides premium braking. This controller is equipped with a digital display allowing you to select percent of power, voltage, or current. The Endeavor is equipped with a microprocessor allowing it to save all your settings. The smart controller includes several diagnostic tools to help you in your braking needs. Superior braking response with automatic and user-adjustable power settings Key Features Quik-Connect feature Easy to use Illuminates trailer lights when using manual braking For all single and quad axle trailers equipped with electric brakes Digital Inertia controller Designed for use on any 12-volt negative ground vehicles Full 12-volt output provided with manual lever activation Display reads current, percent of power, and voltage Power boost (turn-on): 15%, 20%, 25% Built-in troubleshooting functions For use with electric and electric-over hydraulic braking systems Mounting Angle and Mounting Direction Mounting angles between -35 and + 90 degrees can be accommodated by the controller. The unit must, however, be installed so that it is parallel with the travel of the tow vehicle and trailer. Use the included reversible slotted mounting bracket and machine screws and fasteners to mount your controller with the back of the controller toward the front of the vehicle. Always be sure to mount in a location which allows the driver to easily apply the manual override and to see the red indicator light. Automatic Operation with Digital Display and Standby Mode During braking, the Endeavor senses deceleration of the tow vehicle. An internal sensor measures the amount of deceleration and sends a proportional amount of power to the trailer brakes. The maximum braking supplied depends on the set up of the controller. The digital display will indicate the amount of power being sent to the trailer brakes. Once the brake pedal is released, the unit will return to "stand by" mode. While standing by, the controller will display the currently selected mode of display (% power, voltage, or current). Maximum Power with Automatic and Manual Settings Under automatic braking (via brake pedal), the maximum power is the percent of available power that is sent to the trailer brakes. Under manual override (via manual slide lever), the maximum power is the percent available power that is sent to the trailer brakes when the manual slide lever is moved all the way to the left. Choose Automatic Maximum Power settings, or use the Manual Override slide lever to apply the trailer brakes independently of the tow vehicle brakes or to override the automatic trailer brakes when less braking is required. The Manual Override slide lever can be used for emergency stopping or for control of excessive trailer sway. The tow vehicle and trailer brake stoplights will still illuminate during the manual lever activation.

Caterham Seven 165 prototype stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show
Thu, 12 Sep 20132013 marks 40 years of Caterham Cars since what was originally a Lotus dealership took over production of the Series 4 Lotus Seven in 1973. Now, at Frankfurt 2013, the British manufacturer is debuting its newest model – the Seven 165 prototype – set to become the entry-level version and the lightest, most efficient Caterham ever when it goes on sale in the UK in 2014. We like the fact that you will be able to buy a Caterham for less than £17,000 and still be able to embarrass much more expensive machinery when the going gets twisty.
Volvo could be heading East
Mon, 08 Dec 2008Actually, it could be going absolutely anywhere a bid can be found. As we reported last week, Ford is trying desperately to unload its last remaining prestige marque – Volvo. And, as we thought, the disposal of Volvo by Ford is said to be a condition of the help that Ford, along with the other main US car makers, is begging from the US government.
Vauxhall Astra GTC unveiled
Wed, 08 Sep 2010The Vauxhall Astra GTC Concept - Paris debut Vauxhall teased the next edition of the new Astra – the three-door Astra – last month ahead of a reveal at the Paris Motor Show in a few weeks. But with just over three weeks to go to Paris we now get much more detail on the Vauxhall Astra GTC Concept. And it looks to us as if Vauxhall are going to stick with the GTC moniker for the production car, so this Concept may well be very close to the final production car.
