Abarth 695 Tributo Maserati: The Fiat 500 Maserati homage
Mon, 20 Feb 2012The Fiat 500 pays tribute to Maserati Fiat is launching a new special edition 500 at the Geneva Motor Show – the Abarth 695 Tributo Maserati – a convertible Abarth 500. Almost three years ago Fiat produced a limited edition Abarth 500 that paid tribute to Ferrari – the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari – which cam with decent oomph, a bright red Ferrari paint job and an eye-watering price tag of £30k. Now Fiat feel it’s time to pay tribute to another marque in its portfolio – and relieve punters of a further slice of hard-earned – with the Abarth 695 Tributo Maserati – this time a soft-top – arriving at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The new, third-generation Fabia sticks with the crisp, defined surfacing that has come to represent Skoda’s ascetic formality.
McLaren plan to make windscreen wipers obsolete
Sun, 15 Dec 2013McLaren plan to make windscreen wipers obsolete Much of the ‘clunkiness’ in cars – stuff like wind-up windows and a cranking handle – have been made obsolete in cars as technology arrived to make things work better, but one thing that remains on modern cars from the dawn of the motoring age is the windscreen wiper. Invented by Mary Anderson in 1903 after she realised drivers of the first motor cars were having to lean out of the window in rainy conditions to see where they were going, it became a standard fitting on all cars within a few years. Windscreen wipers have certainly improved over the years as technology has developed, but they’re still basically a strip of rubber moving across the windscreen to clear rain.
