Survey: 1 in 4 drivers break law every day

The most common offence is speeding, but nearly half of those questioned confessed to using their mobile to phone or text from behind the wheel, and a remarkable 41% said they had driven without wearing a seatbelt. Next-generation Chevy Volt to have 60-mile electric range?
Mon, 12 Aug 2013On the heels of the recently announced price cut for the 2014 Volt, General Motors chief executive Dan Akerson is suggesting that we may see a Volt with 60-mile electric range in three or four years. In an interview with Bloomberg, Akerson suggests that GM is hoping for a "significant" improvement in the extended-range Chevy's ability to run solely on electric power. “For something to be significant to me, I gotta get at least 20 percent improvement in performance," the CEO asserted.

Galarraga retired the first 26 Cleveland Indians batters in order on Wednesday night. The would-be final batter, Jason Donald, appeared to ground out, but umpire Jim Joyce ruled him safe in a controversial call that later that night he admitted was wrong.
