2014 Nissan Micra facelift revealed with March debut in Thailand

A facelift for the 2014 Nissan Micra has been revealed with the debut of the new Nissan March in Thailand. But that move to cut production costs took its toll on the Micra with sales in Europe dropping by almost 10 per cent as buyers moaned about the build quality of the new Micra and the lack of a diesel engine option. So now Nissan are giving the Micra a bit of a facelift for the 2014 model year to breathe some new life in to sales, with the new Micra debuting as the new Nissan March in Thailand last week.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has released the UK car sales figures for January 2014 – and they represent an excellent start to the new year. There were 154,562 new cars registered last month – a 7.6% rise over January 2013, continuing the run of buyer confidence that saw overall sales reach a six-year high last year. The 2014 Volkswagen Beetles are scurrying into dealerships as we speak. The base 1.8-liter turbo model will start at $21,115, including an $820 destination charge, while the convertible will start at $25,990. The hardtop comes with manual transmission; the cabrio gets a six-speed auto.
