Honda CR-V Black Edition & White Edition launch

The Honda CR-V Black Edition (pictured) and White Edition launch The new Honda CR-V – a sensible type of SUV for car buyers who don’t need a ‘lifestyle’ SUV – has been with us for more than a year, so a limited edition model is called for to keep up footfall in Honda’s showrooms. Both the Black Edition and White Edition get 19″ Orion alloys, exhaust finisher and privacy glass, a new patterned grill, tailgate spoiler, running boards and skid plates front and back.

Autodesk Automotive Days - Munich 2009

Autodesk's Automotive Days design conferences, launched in Munich in 2008, have highlighted the key growth area of digital prototyping. And at last month's conference the focus was once again broadened to include coverage of conceptual design and creative visualization (at the very beginning of the design process) and design for manufacture - at the culmination of the process. Speakers from Autodesk outlined the innovative features of their latest product suites, while keynote presentations from leading automotive designers such as Frank Stephenson of McLaren and Volvo's Rickard Franklin showed in fascinating detail how the benefits of these software systems were being maximized in busy corporate design studios.

Ford recalling Explorer and E-series vans

Ford is recalling its E-series van and Explorer SUV for two different reasons. The vans could develop bubbles in the windshield, decreasing visibility, while the Explorers need to have their steering gears checked. The van’s windshields were improperly manufactured, according to the NHTSA, some forming bubbles after an extended time in hot temperatures.
