HEAT BARRIER -  for the INTAKE PLENUM

FITS: KAWASAKI; ULTRA 250X, ULTRA250LX, ULTRA 260X, ULTRA 260LX, STX-15F, STX-12F

This intake spacer will help reduce the heat transfer from the engine to the intake manifold therefore not heating up the air that is going into the cylinder head. This product has been tested and proven to drop the intake temp by 20deg. adding 2+ Horse Power Cool air makes more power.

Will benefit stock or modified engines.

 Tested on a 2006 Kawasaki STX15F N/A,

This engine said to red-line @ 7500 was run to 7000rpm's on the dyno With Out and With the Heat Barrier.

The computer showed a 2.1 HP Gain with a 19.5 to 22.0 degree drop in temp across the intake plenum.

Every ten degrees in temp PLUS or MINUS is worth ONE HORSE POWER.

The 2006 15F is a N/A and was only run to 7,000 rpm. The Ultra is forced and will run a lot higher rpm.

With that said it most likely will have even better than 2.1HP gains for the Ultra250/260

We are modifying our dyno right now but will test this product again on an Ultra engine when the it is ready.

We have been running this product on a 2007 Ultra250X all thru-out the 2009 season.

After a 50minute + two lap race at full throttle, the intake plenum was COLD!!!

If you can keep the air from heating up before it enters the chamber, you will make more horse power.

Without the Heat Barrier in place, the intake plenum acts as an oven that heats up the air before in goes into the cylinder.

Condensed air has more oxygen in it. Hot air is already expanded air and has less oxygen in it.

Cold/Cooler air is the goal with this product.

Simple:

 (10 degrees + )  = ( - One Horse Power)

 (10 Degrees - )  =  ( + One Horse Power)

At 7,000rpm's, With the Heat Barrier, we gained 2.1HP

Aptera's 2e shells get junked by employees, video shows

Thu, 08 Dec 2011

Update: Aptera denies that these videos are in response to the closing of the brand, as previously reported, and states that they were filmed in May destroying prototypes that were bound for the crusher anyway. Automotive startup Aptera Motors closed its doors on Dec. 2 after it ran out of money.

Car4mh Geneva motor show 2009 blog

Wed, 04 Mar 2009

By Car4mh Motor Shows 04 March 2009 15:00 Oh my god! It’s...the celebrity-spotting reader-blogger No report from one of the world’s great motorshows would be complete without a wide-eyed fanboy list of all the famous people he saw there.  So bear with me while I try to avoid sounding like Jeremy Hart or Piers Morgan while name-dropping furiously below (I know, it’s impossible, but can’t blame me for trying).  Paparazzi pics provided where available. 1) Georg Kacher – spotted outside having a smoke by the entrance on Monday press day, as Team Thonon-les-bains (car4mh, Lokinen, Robby1977) battled their way to meet up with editor Tim.  Georg really is larger than life.  We didn’t get a chance to say hi, but Robby noted that being part of the international brotherhood of nicotine addicts wasn’t a bad thing if you’re in such illustrious company.  Batty, we did not accomplish your dare, for all the reasons I mentioned in the forum and more.  2) Tim Pollard – ok, I’m cheating because we were working for him, but come on, the guy does great work for the website.

Caterham to take on Cayman, Evora

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

With the increased visibility brought to enthusiast-secret Caterham via their Formula One team, it only makes sense to diversify the company's offerings. Though they've diverged from the Seven-only path a couple of times before -- with the limited-production 21 in the mid-'90s and the more recent SP/300.R, a track-only collaboration with Lola -- this time they're taking aim at higher-volume prey. The targets?
