Acura NSX prototype will drive Mid-Ohio prior to IndyCar race

Acura's new, long-awaited NSX is still two years from arriving in customers' impatient hands, but attend the Izod IndyCar Series race at Mid-Ohio on Aug. 4 and you'll have the opportunity to see and hear the car in action. Acura on Thursday released an image of a prototype NSX, and said the car will take to the racetrack just prior to the Honda Indy 200 in Lexington, Ohio.

He has finally ruled out a rumoured M1 version of the 1-series and said the tii spec would be the most performance-oriented model, claiming the the twin-turbo 135i was quite fast enough (it does 0-62mph in 5.3sec, after all).The tii concept shown at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show points accurately to the approach BMW is developing: performance kits for the 1-series coupe and hatchback, an aero package, carbonfibre details, fatter wheels and tyres, sports seats and instruments. Sergio Marchionne warns of strife ahead in Europe

Fiat chief exec Sergio Marchionne today warned of troubled waters ahead as Europe's car makers prepare for a radical restructuring. Marchionne, who's the current president of trade body ACEA, said factory closures were looming and repeated his call for a concerted EU-wide response to overcapacity. He warned that national interest was blocking action to strip out excess capacity, caused after European new car demand crashed by 3 million in the past five years.
