Frankfurt auto show: Mercedes-Benz previews the electric B-class

Mercedes-Benz revealed an electric-powered B-class with range-extending capabilities at the Frankfurt motor show. This rounds out the company's line of standard gasoline- and diesel-engine versions in the second generation of the multipurpose fiver-seater. Set to go on sale in selected markets in 2013, the B-class E-cell Plus is propelled by a 136-hp electric motor that draws electricity from a lithium-ion battery mounted low within the car's MFA platform structure.

Just ahead of a debut at the Paris Motor Show, the 2013 Range Rover is running round the UK barely disguised. Update: The New Range Rover has now been officially revealed. Update: Looks like the 2013 Range Rover may be debuting at the Moscow Motor Show on 27th August, a month before Paris (see comments below).

The Infiniti Teaser for two Pebble Beach reveals Infiniti – Nissan’s luxury lot who are struggling to get a foothold in the UK and Europe – like the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. They launched the new Infiniti M there last year and the event opened with the Infiniti Essence Concept. Which is hardly a huge surprise as the US is Infiniti’s biggest market. It competes on even-ish terms with Lexus across the Pond, whereas it had managed to sell just 60 cars in the UK up until February.
