Heavy Duty Differential Cover - Dana 30 - 3/8' Steel - Fully Welded - New on 2040-parts.com
Antelope, California, United States
This is our basic differential cover, we see it as the only one worth making. The D30 came in a few different trucks but it primarily came in Jeeps, from the Jeepster in the late 60's, through most of the CJ5, CJ6, & CJ7 years, throughout all of the different Wrangler variations (YJ & TJ), Cherokees (XJ), and of course the Early Broncos. The D30 axle is actually a pretty good little axle if you don't get carried away with too big tires. One of the questions we get regularly is about the tie rod clearance, it is ~3/4" and it clears all of the D30 axle setups we have encountered. This Differential cover is a 1 piece Plate steel cap 3/8" (.375") thick bent 8 ways then welded to a 1/2" ring, we had to make it thicker to make enough room for the thickness of the cover, it just happens to make it 30% stronger too! The fill plug is a generous 3/4" ID for easy fill and oil level check. This is arguably the strongest Diff Cover made for a Dana 30 axle. We manufacture this and all of our covers out of A50 Plate Steel, thats 50,000 PSI Tensile strength. After welding the mounting surface is machined absolutely flat for a perfect fit! This is for a fully welded D30 Differential Cover with fill plug ready to plug and play *****SHIPS WITHIN ONE BUSINESS DAY***** |

GM won't show new cars in LA
Thu, 13 Nov 2008GM has delayed the unveiling of two new cars the company had intended to show the press and public at the forthcoming Los Angeles auto show. The largest US automaker will now show the production versions of the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac CTS coupe at the Detroit auto show in January instead. "We believe we can better capitalize in Detroit" said spokesman Scott Fosgard.
Honda cutting production in Swindon again – 500 jobs at risk
Tue, 25 Mar 2014Honda is cutting another 500 jobs in Swindon It’s only a year since Honda announced 800 job cuts at Swindon (which eventually was 550) and now they’re about to cut a further 500 as weak demand – particularly in Europe – sees the Swindon plant producing just half the cars it could. The plan is to cut shifts from 3 to 2 a day, which will result in the loss of 340 permanent jobs and 160 temporary ones, and production will be centred on just one production line to increase efficiency and flexibility. The Swindon Plant – which builds the Civic, Civic Tourer, CR-V and Jazz (and the Civic Type-R from next year) – has been hard hit by the slump in European sales in the last five years and, despite still strong UK sales, production levels of 120,000 cars a year – just half of the Swindon capacity – are not enough to sustain the current staffing levels.
VW Pickup concept (2008): first official photos
Wed, 24 Sep 2008By Chris Chilton First Official Pictures 24 September 2008 18:00 He’s designed Alfa Romeos, Audis and even a Lamborghini but now Walter de'Silva has gone all humanitarian and designed a pick-up. VW’s first small flatbed since the Mk1 Golf-based Caddy will take on trucks like the Toyota Hilux and Mitusbishi L200 when it goes on sale late in 2009. It is, but not for long. This thinly veiled concept, called simply Pickup Concept, has been designed as a search and rescue vehicle for coastguards but essentially this is what badge-conscious UK builders will be driving in 2009. The new Volkswagen corporate face with its monobrow top grille and wide mouth is likely to be carried over mostly unchanged to the cars that will roll off the South African production line, as will the surprisingly stylish interior which features hooded instruments and Audi TT-style air vents. Mechanical details are sketchy but Volkswagen claims that engines will be common-rail diesels which rules out the old-tech 2.5 five pot that powers many of VW’s current commercials.
