FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION. A PAIR OF HEAVY DUTY LEAF SPRINGS. THEY WERE OFF OF A 1988 FORD E-250 VAN. EACH LEAF SPRING HAS 5 SPRINGS ON IT. MAKING IT 10 SPRINGS TOTAL. FROM ONE END OF THE SPRINGS TO THE OTHER, THEY ARE 56-1/4 INCHES LONG. FROM CENTER TO CENTER, THE SPRINGS ARE 54 INCHES LONG. THE LEAF SPRINGS WERE NOT ON THE VAN VERY LONG. YOU WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE THE SHIPPING SERVICE. EITHER BY DRIVING HERE TO PICK THE SPRINGS UP YOURSELF, OR SENDING SOMEONE OR A SHIPPING FREIGHT SERVICE TO GET THEM FOR YOU. Ford Transit van gets five-cylinder turbodiesel

The full-size Ford Transit van that replaces the E-series Econoline in late 2013 will have a turbocharged five-cylinder diesel in its powertrain lineup. Today Ford uses the 3.2-liter engine in the Ranger pickup sold in international markets. The engine, which wears Ford's Power Stroke marketing name for diesel engines, is built in South Africa and will be exported to the Transit assembly plant near Kansas City, Mo.

Mercedes SL (2012): aluminium saves 8% weight

Mercedes' new 2012 SL will weigh a solid 140kg less than today's SL roadster - a significant saving of some 8%. This crash diet has been enabled by the adoption of aluminium for the new SL. The learnings from the SLS gullwing are now trickling down to the higher-volume SL, which will be revealed in December 2011.
