It also plays a critical role in the performance of your helmet in the event of a collision. Never wear a motorcycle helmet without making sure you have a proper snug fit (not too tight, and not too loose - just right!) There are several methods and tricks to size a motorcycle helmet. We recommend the following method: 1. Estimate your size Get a flexible tape measure. If you do not have a cloth measure tape, then you can tape 2 pieces of paper together, mark it and measure the paper. Wrap the tape measure around your head over the tip of your ears, 1 inch over your eyebrows and the widest part of your head. Pull the tape comfortably tight in order to achieve best results. Measure 2-3 times for a more accurate measurement. Use size chart to determine best fit. Often times your head measurement may fall between two helmet sizes. When this occurs you should first try the smaller size. The Size Chart is provided by the manufacturer and does not guarantee a perfect fit. Please use this chart as a guide only. 2. Not too tight Once you have your new motorcycle helmet, put the helmet on by grasping the chin strap in each hand and pulling it on over your ears until you feel the top portion of the motorcycle helmet touch. Check for the following red flags:
3. Not too loose Once you have found a motorcycle helmet that feels comfortable and snug, you must make sure that it is not too loose. To do this, securely fasten the chin strap, grasp the helmet chin bar or sides firmly with one hand and try to move the helmet from side to side and up and down. If the motorcycle helmet slides on your skin and hair, it is too large. If your scalp and skin want to move with the helmet, the fit is about right. 4. Just Right One final check. Reach back to the back of the motorcycle helmet and try to rotate the helmet as far down and forward as possible, then as far backward as possible. If the motorcycle helmet feels as if it might slide off in either direction, the motorcycle helmet is either too big or the chin strap was not securely fastened. If you passed these tests, you now have a properly fitting helmet that will maximize safety and minimize wind noise as well! Focus RS plus – the Loder1899
Wed, 28 Oct 2009The Focus RS by Loder1899 We finally got round to doing a review of the Focus RS last week and came away deeply impressed. The thought of 300bhp through the front wheels seemed like a barking mad idea, but Ford had managed to pull off the seemingly impossible with the adoption of their clever RevoKnuckle system, which tames the torque steer if not completely eradicating it. We did note that it seemed as if the system was good enough to take even more horses than the RS produces, which you can now find out for yourself if you opt for the tuned Focus RS revealed by German tuner Loder1899 (catchy little name).
Ferrari F70: First Photo
Mon, 03 Dec 2012We have what appears to be the first photo of the Enzo replacement - the Ferrari F70 – taken at a private viewing for Ferrari clients in China. Despite expectations that the new Ferrari F70 would be revealed before the end of 2012 – which is what Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo told us – we still haven’t had the reveal of the F70 in any form, and certainly not at the Los Angeles Auto show, where we expected Ferrari to debut their new hypercar as it’s the last motor show of note for 2012. It now looks like – short of a non-motor show reveal – that the new F70 will bow in at Detroit in January, but ahead of that it seems Ferrari are already showing the F70 to select clients.
