But in the US, and Hyundai’s home market, the first generation of Hyundai’s large luxury saloon has been around for five years, offering a Korean take on luxury cars from Japan. But now, with the arrival of the second generation Hyundai Genesis, revealed in Korea yesterday ahead of a more public debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January, Hyundai look set to make the Genesis a world model, and the UK looks set to get it too.

Mazda & Alfa to jointly develop a new roadster Alfa Romeo and Fiat have signed an agreement to build a new new RWD roadster based on the next generation Mazda MX-5 platform. Sergio Marchionne is a big believer that the only way to survive as a mainstream car maker is to be as big as possible and share development costs whenever you can. Tesla Model S charging system may have started garage blaze

A fire department in Southern California said a garage fire may have been caused by an overheated charging system in a Tesla Model S sedan, in the latest link between the top selling electric car and the potential for fire. While Tesla Motors Inc. contends the fire was not related to the car or its charging system, the Orange County Fire Authority said the Tesla-supplied charging system or the connection at the electricity panel on the wall of the garage of a single-family home could have caused the fire.
