National Corvette Museum launches effort to build a track complex

Driving to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky., ranks high on the must-do list of many car enthusiasts. Driving away from the museum in a shiny new Corvette is a dream realized by several hundred people each year, part of Chevrolet's factory-delivery program. Now, the museum wants to make it possible to drive while you're there.

Vauxhall is believed to be working on a budget city car to rival the Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1 trio unveiled earlier this month at Geneva. To counter dozing off while driving, which Mercedes claims accounts for a quarter of all major motorway accidents, its engineers have developed an innovative driver support system called Attention Assist. As well as registering linear and lateral acceleration, indicator and pedal operation and vehicle speed, the system also monitors steering response - the most important indicator of fatigue according to Mercedes, is tired drivers have difficulty in keeping their vehicle precisely on track.
