Bad-tempered driving increases over winter

We’re officially a nation of grumpy drivers – not helped by the bad weather and the end of Christmas festivities, a survey has revealed. Halfords Autocentres carried out a study about how winter affects motorists and found that experiences of impatient, aggressive and inconsiderate driving increase at this time of year. Infiniti releases Q50 teaser video

Infiniti has released a short clip teasing its new Q50 sedan ahead of its reveal in Detroit this month. From the video we can see the Q50's new headlight design that integrates a curving LED ‘eyebrow', while we can see more LEDs around the main lamps, bringing the lamp graphics found on the brand's recent concept cars to production. The Q50 will be the first model to launch under the carmaker's new naming policy, where each model will see either a Q (sedans) or a QX (crossovers and SUVs) attached to its name.

The most recent advance in vehicle safety has to be the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) – a sophisticated suite of sensors and electronics that monitors objects in front of your car, automatically applying the brakes for you if it senses you’re heading to hit something. Up until now these auto-brake features have not been rated, but ahead of a new 2014 test that will include AEB systems in its overall safety star scoring, Euro NCAP has put the some of the vehicles already equipped with this technology through their paces.
