The Ferrari FF - the 612 replacement will debut at Geneva   We’ve been wondering for a few weeks what exactly Ferrari were doing with the 612 Scaglietti. We were hearing conflicting stories about the direction Ferrari were heading, ranging from a Shooting Brake version of the current 612 to an all new Ferrari range-topper with a big, new V12 – and a Shooting Brake design. Free tyre safety checks during October

A NOT-FOR-PROFIT tyre safety organisation has produced a website that allows drivers to locate a free tyre ‘health check’ during October. The website, from safety campaigners TyreSafe, will let users enter their home postcode to find the nearest garage to them that is offering to check for any issues like too little tread depth, incorrect pressures and foreign objects like nails or glass. October is set to be Tyre Safety Month, and with the weather turning cold and the nights drawing in – especially when the hour goes back – it’s crucial that drivers make sure their rubber isn’t putting their safety in jeopardy.

Racing fans owe a debt of gratitude to the late Ab Jenkins. The race-car driver and once mayor of Salt Lake City put the Bonneville Salt Flats on the map with the many land-speed records he set there in the 1930s and 40s--some of which remain unbroken. Now, the story of Jenkins and the Salt Flats is being told in a new film, Boys of Bonneville: Racing a Ribbon of Salt.
