This item is NOS, and has sat in my parts room unopened until today. I opened it so that I could compare it to photos in determining its application, as well as to see how it operated. The rod moves with vacuum and pressure. That is, the rod retracts when vacuum applied (from the extended position) but does not extend when vacuum is released (like a normal vacuum advance). When the rod is retracted it will only extend under pressure. I've determined the application to be for 49-56 Ford, Flathead and Y-block. Could fit other years and makes but the application listed is as far as I went with the research. USA 48 State buyers only. Thank you.
