Here we have a brand new HP style, Q1050 squarebore, 4 barrel, double pumper (mechanical secondary), 4150 style carburetor professionally built in my shop and set up BLOW-THROUGH SUPERCHARGER OR TURBO USE. This is one of my custom builds consisting of a new Quick Fuel Technology aluminum, contoured, HP style main body for maximum flow and enhanced booster signal. It will flow 1050 cfm with it's huge 1.580" venturi diameter, and is dyno-proven to 750+ horsepower without the boost, and MUCH higher numbers with boost! It has been assembled with high-flow .130" needle & seat assemblies, 50cc pumps, #40 squirters, blue non-stick bowl and block gaskets, nylon bowl screw and needle & seat hardware gaskets, and vent baffles. The jetting is 86 up front with a 6.5" Hg high-flow power valve, and 94 in the rear with the power valve circuit blocked. The mounting gaskets are included as shown.
Here's a list of features;
New QFT polished lightweight aluminum main body with screw-in air bleeds. .070" idle and .025" high speed bleeds installed.
Annular booster inserts machined from billet aluminum and red anodized to match the base and inlet fittings. These precision boosters have 12 holes (versus 8 for the Holley cast piece) for better fuel atomization and more midrange torque and horsepower.
Red anodized metering blocks that are custom calibrated for maximum performance.
New red anodized billet aluminum baseplate specially designed with channels to prevent fuel leakage from the end of the shaft bore under boost.
New teflon coated throttle shafts, stainless steel throttle blades, and loctited button-head screws for increased flow due to decreased turbulence.
New lightweight aluminum racing style fuel bowls with dual inlets and sight windows (will not yellow). No more fumbling with sight plugs!
Red anodized inlet fittings and plugs to match the base. Uses a standard Holley model 4150, inverted flare fuel line with 5/8"-18 flare nut.
Jet extensions and notched float in the rear to prevent fuel starvation during a hard launch.
Crush resistant nitrophyl floats front and rear.
Rear idle speed adjustment screw for fine tuning the 4 corner idle.
This carburetor weighs about 7 1/2 lbs., while a typical cast zinc carb weighs in at 11 to 13 lbs.

Audi e-Tron Spyder – The CES Star
Fri, 07 Jan 2011Audi e-Tron Spyder at the CES Audi keep on dragging versions of their e-Tron out at any given opportunity, usually focusing on a different take on some form or other of electric and/or hybrid propulsion. Our favourite so far has been the Audi A1 e-Tron, which may seem odd to those of you who know of our penchant for the fast and exotic. But hybrid cars are best suited to urban environments – even more so electric cars – and the Audi A1 e-Tron’s combination of electric motors and a range-extending Wankel engine really floated our urban boat.
Audi plans expansion of hybrids, electrics
Mon, 15 Mar 2010Audi plans a rapid expansion of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles over the next few years as a key component in Volkswagen Group's strategy to dominate the alternative-powertrain market by decade's end. Michael Dick, Audi's board member for technical development, told Automotive News that the next-generation A6 sedan will have the potential to be a full hybrid by the end of 2012. The A6 would join the recently introduced hybrid A8 sedan at the Geneva auto show and the soon-to-be-launched Q5 hybrid crossover.

An all-new C-class coupe will debut next year, followed by three derivatives of the front-wheel-drive B class in 2012 and 2013. "Everyone wants to be Mercedes-Benz," said Ernst Lieb, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA.
