There are 3 cracks in the outer covering that I have found. The outer housing is about 34-1/2" long, with the adjuster screwed to minimum length. . The rubber boot is there at the carb. end. I see no fraying on the cable. The cable is about 37-1/2" long. The adjuster & lock nut turn freely.

Chip Foose returns to Disney's Car Masters Weekend
Wed, 12 Jun 2013Automotive designer Chip Foose will return to this year's Car Masters Weekend at Downtown Disney on 15-16 June. Foose, who is also a hot rod shop owner, fabricator and star of the reality TV series Overhaulin' on Velocity, has created pieces of original artwork featuring landmarks from Walt Disney World Resort, finished in his signature marker style. Works by Foose were put on display last year in Disney California Adventure's Car's Land attraction.
G-Power pushes BMW M5 to 228 mph

The result is a 750-hp, 228-mph missile that topped the Brabus Rocket on the speed chart.
GM expands advanced-vehicle-technology center in California
Mon, 13 Jun 2011General Motors unveiled a new technical center dedicated to the development, maintenance and testing of alternative-energy vehicles last week in Torrance, Calif. The company has had local digs for years but recently leased the building next to its existing Advanced Technology Center for an alternative-energy research facility. It now employs a dozen scientists, technicians and engineers to advance the electrification of GM vehicles.
