Warren Golf & Country Club Classic & Supercar event this weekend
Wed, 01 May 2013There are plenty of supercar and classic car shows up and down the UK to keep petrolheads (and their families) fed with a regular dose of adrenalin and high-octane thrills, but it’s always nice to report on a new one, especially a new one that offers the promise of something worth making the effort for. The Warren Golf & Country Club, which nestles on the Warren Estate in Woodham Mortimer – far from the white stilettos and tangoed complexions of the more chavvy parts of Essex – has its first ever classic and supercar show event this Saturday (4th May 2013) and they’ve made a pretty good fist of putting an appealing array of goodies together. Max Chilton, a relatively new entrant in the F1 world, will be there together with his Marussia F1 car, as will be the entire Le Mans Jaguar XJR Team thanks to local specialists JD Classics.
Chrysler vows to rebuild SRT
Mon, 27 Jun 2011Ralph Gilles promises that Chrysler Group will be "very choosy" about the cars and trucks that get the SRT performance badge. Gilles, recently named head of SRT, is charged with rebuilding the SRT unit, which languished when Chrysler was owned by Cerberus Capital Management. Three new SRT vehicles, versions of the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, will arrive in dealerships this fall, joining the Challenger SRT8.
GM, Chrysler get cold shoulder from consumers, report says
Fri, 20 Mar 2009General Motors and Chrysler clearly have an image problem. In a classic case of: "It's not me--it's you," fewer consumers are considering the two Detroit automakers in the wake of their pleas for government assistance and bankruptcy rumors. The share of buyers who would make a GM car their primary choice fell 12 percent, and the share of Chrysler intenders dropped by one third, according to a study released Thursday by CNW Research of Bandon, Ore.
